Justice for Cecil the lion, US Dentist and hunter Walter Palmer charged for murder.
Walter Palmer of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, married and father of two. Minnesota dentist and convicted black bear poacher killing Cecil the lion, a well-known and protected lion of Zimbabwe’s national park system.
Zimbabwe National Parks agency, protected and loved the Zimbabwean lion, Cecil. A well known 13 year-old lion with a distinctive black-tinged mane, often seen near tourist, wore a GPS collar on order to track movements. Cecil the lion was part of an Oxford University research project.
Since the killing, Cecil has been trending to social media, allegedly Palmer, US dentist paid thousands to Zimbabwean hunter Theo Bronkhorst and Honest Ndlovu. The two were private game park owner paid just to kill the lion, however, they will face poaching charges, Wednesday in Hwange.
In Walter Palmer‘s statement, “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt”.
Hwange National Park considered the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe. Cecil was the 23rd or 24th lion in the park that has been collared and killed. Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force stated, hunters then tracked him for another 40 hours before finishing him off with a rifle, skinning and beheading him.
