Jonathan Dewayne Viane, 29 year-old Fil-Am, one of the main suspect of killing Aika Mojica been arrested, Viane faces complaint for murder before the Olongapo City Prosecutor’s Office.
Jonathan Dewayne Viane, 29 year-old Fil-Am National from Anchorage, Alaska who allegedly raped and killed the 23 year-old Karieces “Aika” De Dios Mojica of Subic, Zambales last July been arrested 4 September 2015 by authorities in Iowa. Mojica was found dead, along a dike near the Santo Tomas River in San Felipe. She was brutally killed, acquiring three gunshot wounds to the head an her body partly burned.
An arrest warrant was issued by Judge Consuelo Amog-Bocar for two suspects, 28 July 2015, for killing Mojica. After a massive manhunt, Niño Dela Cruz of Subic, Zambales, one of the suspect, was first arrested with a P50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. He was arrested on 12 August 2015 in Metro Manila and detained at Zambales Provincial Jail. Jonathan Dewayne Viane and Niño Dela Cruz were identified by “Claire”, a 17-year-old girlfriend of Viane.
On 4 September 2015, Jonathan Dewayne Viane been arrested by US authorities. This is based on the Philippines’s request for provisional arrest. Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila de Lima confirmed, “Subject was arrested in Iowa on Sept. 4, 2015, based on our request for provisional arrest dated Aug. 20, 2015, and received by the United States Embassy on Sept. 1. Since it’s a provisional arrest, we have 60 days from his arrest to submit the full extradition request.” Viane then will face trial for murder in Iba, Zambales.
Before two suspects been arrested, they were subject of manhunt, and Jonathan Dewayne Viane for Hold Departure Order, reportedly set to leave the Philippines 29 July 2015, Wednesday. Jonathan Dewayne Viane able to leave the country, left via Eva Air BR272 going to Alaska on 26 July 2015, a day after the crime was committed.
With Claire’s testimony, claimed to authorities that she was with the victim the night of July 24. Later on accompanied Mojica to a gasoline station near the local high school here to meet Viane.
Suspect Jonathan Dewayne Viane told Claire he wanted to meet the victim to confront regarding rumors he heard, as Mojica has been telling things to Viane’s wife, who was in the Unites States, main reason of such brutal killing. IMAGE/FACEBOOK
