A pilot and student-pilot died after trainer plane crash-landed at the end of runway.
Plane used primarily for flight training and personal use, Cessna 152 owned by Fliteline Aviation crashed at Plaridel Airport in Barangay Agnaya, Plaridel, Bulacan, Tuesday afternoon. The pilot together with his student-pilot unfortunately died on said incident. The general aviation airplane, popular with flight training organizations and widely operated by private individuals was performing a touchdown and go before it crash-landed.
The 40 year-old pilot identified as Capt. Arthur Rebollido declared dead on arrival, at Bulacan Provincial Hospital in Malolos town while his 24 year-old student-pilot Jame Oquialda immediately rushed to Dr. Peralta Hospital. Oquialda suffered major injuries, he is in critical condition with a fractured skull and then transferred to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Pulilan for operation, unfortunately he later died.
Area manager Eduardo Lansang of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines in Plaridel, Bulacan confirmed that the pilot in command was declared dead on arrival when he was brought to the hospital. Report said that Capt. Arthur Rebollido and student-pilot Jame Oquialda were doing a touch-and-go using Cessna 152 at Plaridel Airport in Brgy. Agnaya, Bulacan from 4:00 p.m. to 4:46 p.m. when incident occurred.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines or CAAP stated that pilot in command Capt. Arthur Rebollido and student pilot James Oquialda were taken to the hospital by the CAAP rescue team before announced dead. Thorough investigation has been implemented to determined whether incident involving Cessna 152, caused by human error or mechanical failure.
