Despite having contract with Adidas, James Harden caught for the second time wearing Nike shoes.
The 26 year-old American professional basketball player James Harden wore Nike again on September 19 during the TAO 10 Year Anniversary in Las Vegas, with his 31 year-old American television personality girlfriend Khloe Kardashian. On their date, Harden spotted wearing Nike Air Jordans while his girlfriend was wearing an Adidas sweatshirt and sweatpants.
The basketball player reportedly had a deal with Adidas worth $200 million over the next 13 years, agreed upon after his Nike contract expired. With James Harden seen on public wearing Nike shoes, Adidas was really pissed off and felt insult. Adidas has been known being a longtime basketball shoe manufacturer and is one of the leading basketball brands in the world. On 3 August 2015, the sports apparel submitted an endorsement deal to James Harden.
The shoe company prefer Harden not to wear Nike though he is still under contract with Nike until the end of the month and his contract with them doesn’t begin until October 1. In statement of Adidas’ Mark King, “The difference between football and basketball is that a guy like Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a walk-around shoe. Harden does, and he will be in our lifestyle stuff. He will have to stop wearing Nike’s when his Adidas deal officially commences Oct. 1. That’s part of the deal.
James Harden currently plays for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association. He is considered one of the most versatile and dangerous scorers in the NBA with season averages of over 26 points per game since the 2012–13 season.
