Japan kicked off its Halloween season this week at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea where parades and other events will be held until October 31, reports Japan Today online newspaper.
One of the highlights of Disney’s annual festival is the Happy Halloween Harvest Parade which features Disney characters in Halloween costumes and also ghosts. Mickey Mouse hosts a fun Halloween fair in the parade. Other Disney characters are dressed in unique costumes matching the theme of the seven floats. There’s a mysterious pumpkin house, a game booth, a bandstand, a laboratory with gigantic pumpkins, a sweets shop, a picnic area, and a musical revue theater.
Universal Studios Japan in Osaka begins its Halloween festivities on September 13 and continues until November 10. The theme park will become a zombie-infested city at night as part of its Halloween Horror Nights event. Horror heroine Sadako will be there haunting each attraction.
