A new television show premiered on FOX yesterday—Sleepy Hollow TV show is an American fantasy mystery thriller adventure drama television series that premiered on Fox on September 16, 2013.
A fantasy adventure series based on Washington Irving’s classic short story, turns Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) into a Colonial American soldier under the command of George Washington. Shortly after lopping off the Horseman’s head, it appears to the viewer that Crane dies. That is, until he awakens alongside his nemesis in 2013. Got all that? Good, because it’s about to get even more complicated.
Episode begins in 1781 as the turncoat Crane, slyly played by the British actor Tom Mison, is battling Redcoats during the Revolutionary War. He comes face to face with someone who can’t be killed with a simple beheading, and before long both of them have awakened in the present day.
Sleepy Hollow TV Show series is considered a “modern-day adaptation” of the 1820 Halloween short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving with the added concept from “Rip Van Winkle”, also by Irving.
In October 2013, Sleepy Hollow was renewed for a second season with 13 episodes. The season was extended to 18 episodes in May 2014.
Early in March 2015, Sleepy Hollow showrunner Mark Goffman left the series after two seasons. On March 18, 2015, Sleepy Hollow was renewed for an 18-episode third season by Fox with new showrunner, Clifton Campbell, taking over.
The broadcast networks have almost 30 shows debuting this fall, including new sitcoms from Michael J. Fox and Sean Hayes, a futuristic tale from the Fringe team and Marvel-ous adventures for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. To help you prep for it all, TVLine is offering First Impressions of the not-for-review pilots.
