The crocodiles escaped from the Ban Sanai farm in tambon Pimai late Sunday morning, says Thai Rath newspaper.
Authorities quickly set up a team to catch the reptiles, and were able to capture six of them by late Sunday afternoon. They continue to search for the rest in an attempt to capture all of them as soon as possible.
The area has been hit by flooding caused by continuous rain and run-off from Phanom Dong Rak mountain.
Thailand has numerous crocodile farms, including the world’s largest at Samut Prakan which has over 60,000 crocodiles and is set up for visits from tourists.
During the 2011 floods, which were the worst in half a century, over 100 crocodiles were believed to have escaped from farms, lending a dimension of fear to the flooding. Image/thamai.net
