Miaoli City, Taiwan – On October 26 a group of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Taiwan gathered together to extend their helping hands to pack relief goods to be sent to the earthquake victims in the Visayas area of the Philippines.
Packed in balikbayan boxes are collected canned foods, medicines, rice, water, sleeping sheets, used clothing and others. Ediza Chou sponsored the sending fee, Mr. and Mrs. Liu spearheaded the collection and the transportation, while Atty. Rhenier Mora and his group will cater upon receiving the goods and distribute it to the affected areas.
The aforementioned goods were accumulated for about two weeks. Flooding supporters from the Taiwan community apportioned their fair share with great hope for a new beginning to the people hit by the massive quake.
Corrugations were held at the Champion dormitory with the permission of Joann Wongli Flores, coordinator of the place. Most of all, the manpower behind the tedious packing was the OFW stationed in Miaoli City, many from Princo Electronics and some from SC Kingflex Corp. All gathered together after work in their respective companies. Starting with taping all the cargo boxes down to the segregation of the goods, everyone gleefully did such a charitable job. Divided from different cities in the Philippines but united in one purpose – to bring back the damaged city and people to life. “It is such a great feeling to help our fellow Filipinos”, one said.
Concluding the activity is a sanguine pictorial with the boxes, all wearing a lighthearted smile to reach out to our fellow-men to continuously shed hope despite such a distressful moment. Now, all boxes are ready to be sent, sealed with hope and love! SEE RELATED POST.
