Singapore — A man with the name Batman Suparman was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail on charges of theft, housebreaking, and consuming heroin in Singapore.
The man’s superhero-like name had turned him into somewhat of a social media celebrity, garnering 10,000 “likes” for his Facebook fan club.
Batman’s elder brother, Nurazman Suparman, 28, in July reported to police that his ATM card was missing and there were unauthorized withdrawals of $650, according to reports.
Investigations revealed that Batman, 23, had stolen the ATM card from their home on Depot Road to make the withdrawals.
On August 9 he broke into the GF Billiards & Marketing office on Depot Road and stole $200 from a drawer.
When Batman was arrested on August 19, a urine test showed he had also been abusing heroin.
