Singapore — Two people died in a fire at a Bukit Timah bungalow early Sunday morning in Singapore.
Firefighters discovered two male bodies after putting out the fire in the single storey unit.
Three other occupants of the unit were rescued, one male and two females, and sent to the National University Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the “fire involved the contents of the unit” and was brought under control in about 15 minutes, according to reports.
The SDCF was alerted at 4:16am, and dispatched firefighters and ambulances to the location at 40 Jalan Gaharu.
Reports indicate that part of the unit was used as a makeshift temple.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
