Singapore — A man was sentenced to seven months in jail on Monday for having sex with an underage prostitute and two other offences.
Khoo Wenbo, 28, was the 27th man to be sentenced in the high profile online vice ring case involving pimp Tang Boon Thiew, according to reports.
Khoo had booked the 17-year-old girl for sexual services in December of 2010.
When the girl was in the shower, he did a check and discovered that she was underage.
So he decided to just have her perform oral sex, thinking it would not be against the law.
Afterwards, while she was in the shower, he fled the hotel room without paying.
Also, in December 2011 Khoo had used a friend’s identity card to enter the Marina Bay Sands casino on two occasions.
A third charge of entering the casino without paying was taken into consideration during sentencing.
His defence attorneys asked for a sentence of four to five months, saying he had made a conscious effort not to have sex with the minor.
The prosecution asked for a sentence of nine months.
The judge determined a sentence in between the two requests would be appropriate in the case.
