Singapore — A new mobile application and parenting toolkit which contains information on how to build a strong foundation for children in their early years was launched Saturday morning by the Early Childhood Develpment Agency in Singapore.
The resources are designed to support parents and educators of children up to seven years of age.
The Parenting Moments tool kit gives practical tips on child development, and ideas and suggestions for positive parent-child bonding. It can be downloaded at www.growatbeanstalk.sg.
A mobile version can be accessed through a new app called APParent in SG. The app will be updated weekly with new content, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store and Google Play.
Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing, speaking at the Early Childhood Parenting Conference, encouraged parents to allow their children to grow at their own pace and not pin their own expectations or unfulfilled dreams on them, reported The Straits Times.
But because society is “hyper competitive”, he said, the two new resources were created to aid parents and educators.
