Singapore — (UPDATE) A 30-year-old Indonesian maid has been arrested by police in connection with the newborn abandoned baby case in Singapore, The Straits Times reported.
According to initial reports, the maid had found the baby outside her employer’s home off Sixth Avenue while taking out the trash on Friday night.
The home owners called police and said their maid had found the baby outside the house.
The owner, who declined to give her name, said she didn’t know why the baby was left there.
The newborn, whose umbilical cord was still attached, was reportedly wrapped in a towel and left at the gate of the home on Friday night.
No further details have been reported on the arrest as of yet.
