Universal Pictures declared that some of the DVD proceeds of Fast & Furious 6 will go to Paul Walker’s charity. The DVD will be on sale on December 10 in North America.
“With the passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others. We share in the deep grief of his family, friends and the countless fans who love him,” said Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley.
“We keep Paul’s memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of Reach Out WorldWide, the nonprofit he founded to give hope to those who must rebuild after they have experienced natural disasters.”
Walker’s Reach Out Worldwide Charity is described as “a network of professionals with first responder skill-sets who augment local expertise when natural disasters strike in order to accelerate relief efforts.” Walker founded charity after witnessing local insufficiency of relief efforts after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Walker and his friend were in Santa Clarita last November 30 for a car show to support the Philippines’ typhoon relief effort. He died in a car accident.
Paul Walker’s family requested that instead of flowers or other gifts, donations be made to support Paul’s charity. To learn more about Reach Out WorldWide Charity or make a direct donation, please visit www.ROWW.org.
