Highlights SEA Games 2013: results for Saturday Dec 21 – Thailand continues to lead the medal tally with 107 gold medals, followed by Myanmar with 84, Vietnam with 73, Indonesia with 64, Malaysia with 43, Singapore with 34, the Philippines with 29, and Laos with 13. The Thais still lead in total medals also, with a total of 281 gold, silver and bronze won in these Games.
In men’s football, Thailand won the gold with a 1-0 finals victory over Indonesia, who took the silver. In the Bronze medal match, Singapore beat Malaysia 2-1.
In volleyball, Thailand won the women’s gold by beating Vietnam in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-18). The Vietnamese took the silver.
In the men’s, Thailand won the gold there too, as they defeated Indonesia 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-21). The Indonesians took the silver.
In hockey, Malaysia won the men’s gold by easily beating Singapore 9-0. The Singaporeans settled for the silver. Myanmar won the men’s bronze by beating Thailand 3-1.
In traditional boat racing, Thailand won the gold in the men’s 20-crew 2000m, Myanmar took the gold in the women’s 20-crew, and Myanmar won the gold in the mixed 20-crew race. Myanmar has dominated the event, winning the gold in 14 of the 17 races.
In table tennis, Jian Zhan of Singapore won the gold in men’s singles, while Menguy Yu of Singapore won gold in the women’s singles.
In Taekwondo, Ramnarong Sawekwhiaree of Thailand won the gold in the men’s 54kg, Trong Cuong Nguyen of Vietnam took gold at 87kg, and Kristopher Rober Uy of the Philippines took gold in the 87+kg.
In the women’s, Nway Nway of Myanmar won gold in the 46kg, and Seavmy Sorn of Cambodia won gold in the 73kg.
In judo, Myanmar won three gold medals today, while Singapore and Thailand won one gold each.
In muay, Myanmar won three gold medals, Thailand won two golds, and Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam won one gold each.
In kempo, Indonesia won the gold in three events, Vietnam won gold in two events, and Myanmar took gold in one event today.
