Singapore LIONSXII team wins over Perak, MSL at the Shah Alam Stadium in the only league match held on Friday night.
LionsXII’s is in royal red jersey, using the colors of the national flag, raged a second straight victory, Hafiz hailed the team’s resilience afterwards as the Singaporean kept their unbeaten home record defended.
After LIONSXII team recorded back-to-back victories in the Malaysian Super League MSL, the LionsXII is now entitled to a three-week break in the MSL before they wage comeback action against Felda United on Aug 2.
“I think we showed great fighting spirit,” he said. “We started a bit ‘off’ today and then slowly got ourselves together and after the break, we came out as a team… we all stepped up our game, so credit to the boys for the team effort.”
A relieved Fandi admitted that Perak’s game plan to close down his team early and go on the offensive worked but he was pleased that LionsXII eventually found their rhythm to seal an important three points.
He said: “Difficult game and it was very tight. They are one of the fittest teams in the league and have a lot of youngsters like us.”
