Austria helped to seek justice,undertaking criminal investigation upon the downed of Malaysian jet.
The country tried to persuade UN Security Council for a settled arrangement of international tribunal, providing legal actions regardless to the said incident.
Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed last year, 17 July 2014 , scheduled international passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
The incident is considered deadliest airliner shootdown incident after being shot down, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board.
Malaysia said intelligence reports on the downing of were “pretty conclusive”, more investigation was necessary to be certain that a surface-to-air missile brought down the plane, after which they would look at the criminal side.
The incident caused fear to other airlines, announcing they would avoid overflying conflict zones.
Dutch led two parallel investigations, first is the cause of the crash and second is criminal inquiry.
Technical report is expected to be released in October this year while the criminal investigation could extend into 2016.
Council of the European Union expressed concern over Russian statements questioning the investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.
They emphasised that the investigation “is carried out by a fully independent expert team of international experts in full compliance with ICAO rules and regulations, and to fully cooperate with the investigation.
According to Julie Bishop, Australian Foreign Minister , “The establishment of an international criminal tribunal … would send a clear message that the international community will not tolerate acts that threaten international peace and security by endangering civil aviation.”
As part of the council, Malaysia drafted resolution, a joint proposal with Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Ukraine, hoping for good result.
