Jay Chou first concert in Singapore’s new stadium: Taiwanese pop superstar Jay Chou will be the first to hold a concert in the National Stadium at the new Singapore Sports Hub, according to reports.
- The popular heartthrob is scheduled to hold his Opus II Concert in the new venue on November 8, 2014.
This performance will be a continuation of Chou’s Opus tour which he brought to Singapore in June of 2013, according to concert promoter Multimedia Entertainment.
The upcoming outdoor concert promises to boast all the bells and whistles of spectacular stage sets, giant video screens, and performance tracks from the Taiwanese superstar’s new 2014 album, which is yet to be released.
Details of the concert tickets, which are to be sold via Sports Hub Tix, will be released at a later date, say reports.
Chou’s tour dates in 2014 include performances in North America, Europe and Australia.
Chou is a musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor who was discovered in 1998. He was trained in classical music, and combines Chinese and Western music styles to create songs fusing R&B, rock, and pop genres.
He composes all of his own songs, and also songs for other singers. His first album was released in 2000, and he has since released one album per year except in 2009, each of which has sold several million copies, according to reports.
Jay Chou’s music has gained a following throughout Asia, especially in such areas as Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and in overseas Asian communities.
Chou is also an award-winning actor, and is now involved in directing and running his own record company JVR Music.
