2 men arrested in video fighting on Singapore MRT train: Two men in Singapore who were caught on video fighting with each other on an MRT train have been arrested, according to reports.
The two men, aged 40 and 50, can be seen on the video yelling expletives and kicking each other on the MRT, which was travelling between Khatib and Yio Chu Kang stations. Eventually, the fight was broken up by another commuter.
Police were alerted to the fight on January 11 at 11:55pm when they received a call from the train station staff. Officers were sent from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division and arrived at the Yio Chu Kang MRT station shortly thereafter, but the two men had already left the MRT, according to reports.
However, police investigated and they were eventually identified and arrested on Monday in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9 for the alleged offence of affray, said reports. They are expected to be charged in court on Wednesday.
If they are found guilty, they could face a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a S$5,000 fine.
Assistant Commissioner Keok Tong San, Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, said that the police will not hesitate to track down and prosecute those who disturb the public peace by committing such senseless acts of violence.
