Australian same sex marriage Government being pressured- the government is more focus on the welfare of the country particularly in economy and security.
Senior Abbott government minister Eric Abetz has suggested legalising same-sex marriage could open a “Pandora’s box” of legalising other unions, including polyamory.
According to report Australian Broadcasting corporation , Liberal Party, opposition labor representative with other co-sponsors from liberal parties proposed a bill to the government about marriage equality bill to be introduced this coming August.
According to the prime minister that same sex marriage is an important issue but some private members bill was not likely to be debated and voted.
He said, “It’s quite unusual for private member’s bills to come on for debate and vote in the parliament.”
The debate on the issue whether to follow countries like the United States and Ireland in recognizing same-sex marriage has unusual relations between Australia’s socially conservative Catholic Prime Minister Tony Abbott and members of his Liberal Party in favor of the change.
Abbott told the reporters, “Obviously there is a lot of community debate going on, I have views on the subject which are pretty well known and they haven’t changed.”
Senator Abetz said. “I have no hesitation in supporting the long established Liberal Party policy to preserve and protect the institution of marriage, just as we did at the last election.”
“Australia should not legalize gay marriage because no Asian country has adopted marriage equality.” he added.
Australia fails to detain behind a growing number of countries that allow gay marriage, including Britain and neighboring New Zealand.
