One of the Hottest Sing and Dance group in the Philippines, arrested in Malaysia for working without permits during their world tour.
The Department of Foreign Affairs announced the all-female singing and dancing group Mocha Girls from Philippines and considered as one of the hottest female group been arrested in Malaysia for working on the country without necessary permit, Friday. The group arrived in Kuala Lumpur for their last leg of world tour, 4 September 2015, the day group been arrested and were released last September 10, 2015. The group known for their sexy and hot performances, regularly perform at various venues around Manila, have toured and performed abroad in countries.
The show in Malaysia was part of their world tour and recently made stop in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. They also had performed in other parts of Middle East and Asia, and made numerous concerts in the Philippines. After Mocha Girls detained, they returned to Manila on Friday, September 11. The group stated on their Facebook page that while they are performing, Malaysian authorities raided their hotel room, September 4.
Charles Jose, Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said, “They were held because they did not have the necessary permit in violation of their visa status, they only have social visit permits.” The group was visited immediately by the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia upon learning that they were held by immigration authorities. Malaysian immigration decided not to file cases against them, however their promoter just fine them.
In the statement released, “They were rendering their second song number when the Malaysian Immigration authorities conducted a raid in the hotel they were performing, subjecting them to passport and the required permit inspection for our shows. Last Friday, Sept. 4, they arrived at KL Malaysia from Thailand to do their last show before finally going back to the Philippines the next day. Mocha girls stated that Malaysian authorities treated them as criminals, until such time they learned that Mocha Girls were legitimate artists and professional performers in the Philippines, that some measure of courtesy and goodwill were extended us. Lately on tour for the past years” and have performed in the U.S., Canada, Europe and, just recently, were on the Asian leg of their tour. “As our producer failed to produce the work permit that his contractual commitment with us mandated him, we were taken into custody and detained in the Malaysian Immigration prison for 5 days.” IMAGE/FACEBOOK
