A sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man released by Columbia Pictures ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ significantly widened its worldwide web this weekend, adding about 40 markets.
Marc Webb’s blockbuster landed overseas two weeks ago, where it has grossed more than $155 million. On Thursday it obliterated the all-time opening day box office record in Hong Kong with $1.2 million.
The Amazing Spider Man 2 movie also performed well in Indonesia and Malaysia saw the biggest openings of all time, while India and Vietnam had the biggest openings for a U.S. film.
In India, ASM2 opened with $6.5M to snare the record for biggest ever opening weekend for a Hollywood title. The previous record-holder was The Amazing Spider-Man, According to Yahoo report.
