Typhoon Falcon update: The Philippine government launches Viber App, a smartphone application to download for weather updates on public chat to make updates from the state weather bureau, Office of the president announced.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda “sought understanding for some delays in the announcement of work suspension, saying it was using all means to communicate weather updates and it would need advisories from scientists first.”
“We only relay to the public the decision and the recommendations provided for by DOST” Government official said during press meeting.
Government officials retain the public notice to suspend classes in many areas in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, while typhoon Egay continue to exit from PAR, will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the western section of Luzon.
Location of eye/center: At 10:00 PM, the eye of Typhoon “FALCON” was located based on all available data at 985 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes or 995 East of Itbayat, Batanes (21.2°N, 131.4°E).
Typhoon Falcon updates: Strengths of maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. Its forecast movement is moving West Northwest at 20 kph.
