Brisbane became the most successful team in the league’s nine-year history when they sealed their third championship in four years.

The Roar’s Melbourne Victory-bound striker Besart Berisha left it until the 85th minute to equalise, sending the match into extra-time. Roar claimed the 2012 crown with a late penalty goal after reeling in a 1-0 deficit against Perth Glory.

The Brisbane Roar celebrates after they defeated the Western Sydney Wanderers in extra time to win the 2014 A-League grand final in Brisbane.

“This is some achievement by this club. Now we are the mighty Roar.”

The A-League soccer was established in 2004 as a successor to the National Soccer League and commenced in August 2005.
