Public warnings by PAGASA as the Typhoon Soudelor expected to enter Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR on Wednesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA released typhoon warnings and public weather forecast advisories upon the possible entry of typhoon Soudelor in Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The Typhoon Soudelor now considered as extremely powerful tropical cyclone in the northwestern Pacific Ocean and intensified into the eighth typhoon of the season. Current storm status categorized as super typhoon and as it gets closer to the Philippines, PAGASA expected the southwest monsoon to strengthen.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said, Typhoon Soudelor which is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, is the strongest storm in the world this year.
Philippine expected around nineteen typhoons in a typical year and eight or nine making landfall, most of the islands experience annual torrential rains and thunderstorms as sitting astride the typhoon belt. Even though typhoon Soudelor is not expected to make landfall, it will be locally named “Hanna” when it enters PAR.
Shaira Nonot, Pagasa weather forecaster stated that cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan due to the presence of intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ. She added that the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will continue to experience sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
Report shows that Soudelor now the strongest tropical cyclone on Earth. It will continue to strengthen while it crosses the northern Philippines Sea on its way toward eastern Asia. As it enhanced habagat, some areas may experience light to moderate rains including Palawan, Southern Visayas and Mindanao, until Friday.
As of now, state weather bureau has not issued warning as the fisherfolk safe to venture into the seas. The country will experience only isolated thunderstorms slight to moderate.
