JAPAN: Free WiFi Hotspot on Mount Fuji- A free Wifi for mountain climbers at Mount Fuji, enables them to share their journey upon reaching its summit.
Nowadays, people are fund of sharing or posting their journey on social media especially when they climbed mountains. For this reason, Japan launched a free wi-fi on Mount Fuji.
Mount Fuji is on Honshu Island, considered as the highest mountain in Japan.
From the month of July to August were the most-popular period for people to hike up Mount Fuji while huts and other facilities are operating.
Mount Fuji’s is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is often depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
After a number of high-profile deaths and severe cold weather, climbers are being discourage from October to May.
Most Japanese climb the mountain at night to be in a place at or near the summit when the sun rises.
Mount Fuji is a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and one of Japan’s Historic Sites. It was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site, June 22, 2013.
Being one of the most visited site, Japan decided to put up some idea, aimed to attract more overseas visitors to Shizuoka and Yamanashi.
To have an access to their free wi-fi, they need to enter an ID and password provided in fliers in English, Chinese and Korean that will be distributed.
According to the Japanese mobile network, they will start the service Friday at eight hotspots on Japan’s most famous mountain, including the 3,776-meter summit . IMAGE GETTY
