The Copa America winner is returning to Germany after playing for Italian club Juventus. Bayern Munich has reached an agreement with Serie A champions Juventus over the transfer of Arturo Vidal.
“I can confirm that we have with both parties, Juventus and the player, reached an agreement. What is missing is the medical and the signature of the contract,” said Karl Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern’s chief executive officer.
“If everything goes according to plan, he can start training next week,” he added.
The athlete is on holiday in Miami after the success of Copa America earlier this month and he is due in Munich at the weekend to undergo his medical.
Vidal will replace Bastian Schweinsteiger in Pep Guardiola’s midfield after the Germany international joined Manchester United after 17 years at the club.
The 28-year-old midfielder will be the fourth summer signing for the club, following the signings of Brazilian winger Douglas Costa, goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
Vidal is having the form of his life and is in very good touch across all competitions. The athlete helped Juventus reach the Champions League final where they lost to Barcelona 3-1.
The Chile International has won four league titles in four years while playing for the Italian giants. He joined
Juventus in 2011 and since then appeared in 124 Serie A league games, scoring 35 goals.
Last month, the athlete faced a lot of criticism when he crashed his Ferrari in Santiago, Chile. Later he admitted that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
This will be his second stint in Bundesliga as previously he represented Bayer Leverkusen in the German League. He will bring the experience of 117 Bundesliga appearance and 15 goals while he has also played in the champions league 27 times, with nine goals under his belt. IMAGE/goal.com
