CEO of one of the biggest companies in the world is bearing a twin girl, due this December.
Marissa Mayer, 40 year-old, married to a lawyer and investor Zachary Bogue on December 12, 2009. She is appointed as president and CEO of Yahoo! since 16 July 2012. On the same day that Yahoo announced her hiring, she claimed pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby boy on 30 September 2012. Since her appointment, the stock price of Yahoo! doubled over 14 months in September 2013.
In 1999 Mayer joined Google, she was the company’s first female engineer. Marissa Mayer became known for her attention to detail that helped her promotion to product manager. Later on she became Director of Consumer Web products. Aside from this, she also sits on several non-profit boards including Cooper–Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
She announced in 31 August 2015 that she is pregnant with twin girls, due in December 2015. Marissa Mayer stated, “Since my pregnancy has been healthy and uncomplicated and since this is a unique time in Yahoo’s transformation, I plan to approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout.” She plans to take a short break from her job, instead of the full 16 weeks of paid leave.
She wrote: “The twins part was quite a surprise, because I have no family history of twins or any other predisposing factors.”, “However, as I’ve now learned, identical twins occur by random chance in roughly 1 out of approximately every 300 pregnancies. Zack and I have embraced the surprise and are very excited about these new additions to our family.”
“At the company, we are extremely happy for her and supportive of her plans and approach. Yahoo, as well as Marissa and her family, thank you for respecting their privacy during this happy, special time,” official company blog stated. IMAGE/TWITTER
