BMW and Apple Inc. rumored partnership on cars

An awaited partnership on cars as rumored with one of the luxury automakers and world’s second-largest information technology company, BMW and Apple Inc.

The iPhone maker rumored to have a partnership with known luxury automaker, the BMW. The two companies were expected to produce more developed and world-class cars which surely hits in business, as Apple said to have worked on a major automotive project.

BMW known for having number of high-performance derivatives of their cars developed. May this year, the BMWi3, all-electric, ranked world’s top ten best-selling plug-in electric vehicles. The company also developed the Light and Charge with street lights equipped and sockets to charge electric cars.

After a visit of famous iPhone maker’s CEO Tim Cook and other executives to BMW, the best seller of luxury cars,Leipzig, Germany, a rumored partnership then again came up. In 2020, Apple will enter the automobile market with a unique car as the ultimate mobile device.

In a statement of senior BMW source, “Apple executives were impressed with the fact that we abandoned traditional approaches to car making and started afresh. It chimed with the way they do things too.”

The former-president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, as well as at least one transmission engineer, Johann Jungwirth reportedly hired by Apple. However, no final decision has been made by the company on plans to make electric cars.

Elon Musk, Tesla founder said, “I actually hope Apple gets into the car business, that would be great,” when asked about the potential Apple-BMW partnership.

Rumors on Apple as it has its undergoing research on electric car project and number of Apple employees are working on this project. Some analysts believed that the company is clearly increasingly interested in competing inside the automobile industry.
