The greatest in women’s tennis history again defend her title at WTA Tour’s Rogers Cup, defeating Pennetta.

Serena Williams, 33 year-old American professional tennis player defend her title and proved again her girl power on the court. She defeated Flavia Pennetta at the WTA Tour’s Rogers Cup in Toronto, Tuesday. It was her first match after she won Wimbledon in July. She pulled out of last week’s tournament due to elbow injury, Stanford, Calif.

Williams ranked as No. 1 in women’s singles tennis and a five-time winner of the WTA Tour Championships. She considered  as greatest female tennis player of all-time as she won three Grand Slam singles titles, this includes  2003 Australian Open versus Kim Clijsters, 2005 Australian Open versus Maria Sharapova, and 2009 Wimbledon versus Elena Dementieva.

Playing with Pennetta, competing at the Rogers Cup in Toronto,  “I just told myself to drop it, like drop the racquet low and get ready to do everything I could to get into the game and to try to do different things, and that’s what I started doing out there. I was thinking, ‘The last time I was here I won. I should at least try to get through this and give 200%, and I started playing better. I was still making errors, but I just started playing better and making less errors,” Serena Williams said.

She won her first professional title in doubles in Oklahoma City with Venus and won singles gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. In 2015 season, Serena Williams represents United States alongside John Isner at the Hopman Cupthe Australian Open. She defeated Maria Sharapova, Russia,  for the sixteenth consecutive time, claim her 6th Australian Open singles title and 19th career Grand Slam singles title, winning the title on her third match point in the second set.

During her game at the Roger’s Cup, Williams stated, “It was tough holding serve today for me,” said the world number one, adding that she could not recall another match where she had been broken four times in a single set, “It was definitely good for me to have a match like this, to play a good player like her, especially since I haven’t played a match on hard court since early April.”

Serena Williams gained numerous victory that put her on pedestal, she was also a defending champion at the Bank of the West Classic, however withdrew from the tournament after suffered from elbow injury. IMAGE/Reuters
