Thousands of people joined Vancouver Pride Parade 2015


Vancouver celebrates Pride Parade 2015, thousands of people joined the event, with theme Gender Superheroes.

The largest parade of any kind in Western Canada, Pride Parade 2015 in Vancouver for its 37th year, Sunday, 2 August 2015. Gender Superheroes, as this year’s theme which reflects diversity of the community and for people as a role models that reflects and inspire others as they represents international perspective on Pride and shape its spirit with their passion for equality.

Vancouver named as one of the top five worldwide cities, known for livability and quality of life. The city celebrates the said event, Pride Parade 2015 as the annual parade for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender culture and pride, held each year.

In the statement of Tim Richards, Vancouver Pride Society President, saying, “Today is a huge celebration. We’re so exciting about building a little parade today.”

The event is considered the most beautiful and diverse parades in the world. Pride Parade 2015 includes a diverse collection of vendors, entertainment, family activities and beer gardens. With thousands of participants, starting at 12 noon on the day of the Pride Festival, at Robson Street and Thurlow Street.

A Vancouver Pride Society economic impact study estimates the parade pumps almost $23 million into the local economy. The parade heads west down Robson to Denman Street, follows Denman to Pacific and Beach Avenues and finishes at the Sunset Beach Festival site.including cars, floats and marching units.

The parade, covered only one side of the street while the other remained open to traffic, finishes at the Sunset Beach Market. The first Vancouver’s Pride celebrations was when the Gay Alliance Toward Equality organized a picnic and art show in Ceperley Park. IMAGE/www.cbc.ca
